How you start your morning shapes the rest of your day. This guide offers a simple framework for beginning each day in prayer and Scripture, whether you have five minutes or fifty.

The ACTS Framework

One of the simplest and most powerful prayer structures is ACTS:

  • A — Adoration: Begin by praising God for who He is.
  • C — Confession: Bring your failures and struggles honestly before Him.
  • T — Thanksgiving: Thank God for specific blessings in your life.
  • S — Supplication: Bring your requests and the needs of others before God.

A Morning Scripture to Anchor Your Day

“This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.” — Psalm 118:24 (KJV)

Before you check your phone, before you read the news, before the demands of the day press in — pause. Read this verse aloud. Let it settle into your heart.

A Simple Morning Prayer

Lord, I give You this day. I don’t know what it holds, but I know You hold it. Help me to walk in Your wisdom, to speak with Your kindness, and to trust in Your plan. Where I am weak, be my strength. Where I am anxious, be my peace. Let everything I do today bring glory to Your name. In Jesus’s name, Amen.

Going Deeper

If you have more time, pair your morning prayer with a Psalm. The Psalms are divided into 150 chapters — if you read five per day, you’ll complete the entire book each month.

“My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O Lord; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.” — Psalm 5:3 (KJV)

Make morning prayer a habit, not a performance. God isn’t looking for perfect words — He’s looking for a willing heart.
